The Bixby Knolls possess the certain kind of gritty rock 'n' roll swagger that only bands from LA can lay claim to, a studied, self-aware cool that doesn't give a damn what you or anyone else thinks. Since their formation in 2009, they've cut their teeth on hometown shows and tours to Mexico. Now, with the digital release today of their debut LP Near & Undear via El Camino Media and a physical release to follow on February 4th, 2014, The Bixby Knolls are ready to step into a broader spotlight. The album was recorded at the famed Sound Factory Studios in Hollywood and produced by Joe Cadamone (The Icarus Line) and engineered by Greg Gordon (Shooter Jennings, The Dandy Warhols, Oasis). Rolling Stone certainly agrees the band is ready to meet the masses, and are featuring their track "Runnin and Runnin" as today's Daily Download.

Battleme announce new EP & debut first track
When Battleme releases Weight On The Brain on October 8th, 2013, vinyl enthusiasts nationwide will have one more 10’’ to add to their Summer shopping list. Rooted in the heart of the 1990s revival resurgence, Weight On The Brain is set to ride a wave of noisy reverb swells and pounding floor toms, poised to keep the pulse of the band. Joining the ranks of groundbreaking bands like Grouplove and Silversun Pickups, who’ve recently helped radio sound like a dusted off record collection from the Pop Up Video era, Battleme’s retro sound has gathered the attention of Matt Pinfield and his Hivecast podcast, MTV Buzzworthy and music supervisors of Sons of Anarchy, Chuck and Criminal Minds. Weight On The Brain will launch Battleme into a new era for the band. Upon release, the focus on the band will shift heavily from a DIY-electronic outfit to a traditional rock band setup. Of the new approach, front man Matt Drenik, commonly known by the band’s namesake stated, “As we started playing together, we started riding a lot of the songs out. We'd write new instrumental parts to glue the songs together. And pretty soon, the live show started taking on a more aggressive tone that was allowing us to perform without being tied down to click tracks. It was a natural progression.” The 4 song EP, which will be released in both vinyl and digital form and will accompany the band on their upcoming tour. Check out the first single "Just Weight" below.
